Back in the Mix: Skratcher YEG Meet (September 28, 2025)

After missing several monthly meets due to other bookings, it felt great to return to our regular Skratcher YEG gathering this past Sunday. There’s something special about spending a Sunday afternoon immersed in beats and scratching alongside fellow enthusiasts who share the same passion for the craft.

The session had some excellent energy this month. Mike MSA made the trip down from Vancouver, bringing his skills and fresh perspective to our Edmonton crew. It was equally exciting to see Baggylean back on the scene – the community always feels more complete when familiar faces return.

I’ve been enjoying demonstrating the Skratch Attach setup over these past months, and this meet was no exception. Our collective gear continues to impress: from classic turntables and scratch mixers to modern Rane Ones and Serato DJ setups. Having such variety means everyone can explore different approaches and find their preferred workflow.

These monthly meetups, typically held on the last Sunday of each month, remind me why this community matters. Whether you’re a seasoned scratcher or just starting out, there’s always something to learn and share. Shout out to DJ Dice and Xaolin Monk for keeping the movement going!
