Headphone Disco Events – Maritime Universities Tour

An Unforgettable Journey to Canada’s East Coast

This past weekend marked my first-ever adventure to the Maritime provinces of Canada, and what an incredible introduction it was! As a DJ based in Edmonton, I had the amazing opportunity to bring headphone disco experiences to two prestigious universities in New Brunswick and Nova Scotia.

The Journey Begins

The trip started with a cross-country flight from Edmonton to Montreal, followed by another flight to Moncton, New Brunswick. After picking up my rental car, I made the scenic drive to Sackville, a charming university town that immediately captured my attention. I took some time to explore the local area, enjoyed a leisurely breakfast, and soaked in the small-town Maritime atmosphere before checking into The Coastal Inn for a relaxing afternoon.

Mount Allison University – Night One

That evening, I teamed up with DJ Rossy for an electrifying headphone disco event at Mount Allison University. The energy was absolutely infectious as 300 enthusiastic students filled the venue, ready to dance the night away. There’s something magical about headphone disco events – watching a room full of people moving to their own rhythm while sharing the same musical experience creates an atmosphere unlike any other. The students at Mount Allison were incredibly welcoming and brought such positive energy to the dance floor.

Road Trip to Antigonish

The next morning, I drove to Halifax International Airport to pick up DJ Boukine, my partner for the second event. Together, we made our way to Antigonish, Nova Scotia, where we settled into another Coastal Inn to prepare for what would be an even bigger show.

St. Francis Xavier University – Night Two

The second night at St. Francis Xavier University exceeded all expectations. With 800 students in attendance, the venue was absolutely electric. DJ Boukine and I threw down an incredible set that had the entire crowd singing and dancing throughout the night. The headphone disco format allowed us to create intimate musical moments even within such a large crowd, with students switching between different channels and discovering new favorites.

Maritime Hospitality

Throughout the entire weekend, I was struck by the genuine warmth and hospitality of everyone I encountered. From the university staff to the students, locals, and fellow travelers, the Maritime welcome lived up to its legendary reputation. The students came ready to have an amazing time, and their enthusiasm made both events absolutely unforgettable.

Perfect Weather, Perfect Weekend

As if the incredible events weren’t enough, we were blessed with excellent weather throughout the entire weekend. The clear skies and comfortable temperatures made the travel between venues enjoyable and added to the overall positive experience of discovering this beautiful part of Canada.

This Maritime adventure from a couple weeks ago has left me with incredible memories and a deep appreciation for Canada’s East Coast. The combination of enthusiastic students, welcoming communities, and the unique magic of headphone disco events made for a weekend I’ll never forget. I’m already looking forward to returning to these amazing universities and exploring more of what the Maritimes have to offer.
